They employ the “double-firing” technique: first, they mold the clay and fire it for nearly 6 hours at 900 degrees in a traditional oven. Then, they paint it and fire it again to achieve the characteristic bright colors.

The ceramics from the medina, primarily produced in Fes and Safi, are fine and sophisticated, drawing inspiration from Islamic art motifs.
